MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 2, 2006--Interlink Global Corp. ILKG today announced that an interconnection agreement was signed in Medellin, Colombia between Interlink and Internexa, a major telephone company in Colombia, South America. The agreement is to interconnect phone traffic in the Colombian-Venezuelan border area, at Maracaibo, Venezuela, through Internexa's infrastructure in Columbia and Interlink's infrastructure in Venezuela through its NGTV subsidiary. NGTV, owned by Interlink Global, has a microwave network already in place in Maracaibo. The "last mile" link will be installed by Interlink to fully connect the facilities in the area. Such installation should be completed by September, 2006, with traffic commencing immediately thereafter between the two countries.
Initially there will be the exchange of traffic, both voice and data in both directions. Also, Interlink will be transporting to Internexa connectivity from the submarine cable (Global Crossing), using the existing capacity in NGTV's own network.
Additional expansion phases call for expansion of incremental traffic capacity from Caracas to Maracaibo, and the expansion of NGTV's network to include traffic exchanges in the Cucuta-San Antonio border area, which encompasses the southern border of the two countries.
Mr. Severino Rivano, Vice President of Interlink Global, who was responsible for the securing of this important agreement, stated, "This new relationship for Interlink represents a huge business opportunity, putting into play the full resources of NGTV and expanding our operations in this desirable area of Latin America."
Mr. Anastasios Kyriakides, Chairman of Interlink, added, "I am so very pleased with this recent development. We wanted to get a further involvement in the underserved areas of Latin America, and this agreement with Internexa gives us the opportunity to eventually serve clients in Peru, and expand upon our recent move into Ecuador, as well. Furthermore, one of our initial plans with our recently acquired NGTV subsidiary was to immediately increase the utilization of the infrastructure that it has in place, and in the past has been substantially underutilized. This agreement takes a substantial step in using this spare capacity."
It is projected that when fully implemented, the first year's gross business represented by this contract should produce approximately 2.9 Million Dollars in expected Gross Revenue. The expected Net Revenue for the same period is projected to be 1.1 Million Dollars.
